Instructions, before Departure
At Go West we familiarize all our customers with the operation and use of a Recreational Vehicle, covering all aspects that are necessary for full enjoyment of the RV. If required we arrange a test drive. Please allow 60-90 minutes for instructions, paperwork and unpacking.

Reservations
To reserve a vehicle we require a $500 deposit. Final payment is due 30 days prior to date of pick up. Payments can be made in cash, bank draft, money order, Visa or MasterCard. At the time of rental any additional items, security deposit, taxes and insurance premiums must be paid. Every Renter must have a valid credit card to be able to rent from Go West. Prepaid Credit Cards are not accepted.

Our Staff is multilingual.

Minimum Rental & Early Returns

• 1 week minimum rental
• 2 weeks minimum on Class A rentals 
• 2 weeks minimum on northern rentals

No refunds for early returns

• 2 weeks minimum rental for All Inclusive Plan

Pick up and Return
Rental pick-up is between 10am - 3pm (call pick up station 2days prior to arrange rental pick up time)
Rental return is between 8am - 10am

No pick-ups or returns after 3pm

Our stations are closed on Sundays and Statutory Holidays

Transfer
Vancouver & Calgary: Pick-up and drop-off at downtown and airport hotels only. Drop off at the airport as well. Transfers are offered during scheduled pick up and drop off times by appointment only. Contact office the day before pick up or in the morning.

If travelling with children, proper car seat must provided by client.

No Transfers for bikes, snow boards or any equipment - only passengers and suitcases. No Transfers for returns after 10am. 

Deposits & Liabilities:
At time of vehicle pick up Go West will collect the following deposits:

• $150 Cleaning Deposit ($250 Class A). The deposit will be refunded upon return of clean vehicle
• $5000 Basic Insurance /  $1500 VIP Insurance Security Deposit (each will have processed credit card charge, refunded upon return of undamaged unit)

Deposits are refundable upon vehicle return when the RV is returned on time, undamaged, clean, with all equipment complete, holding tanks empty and fuel tank full.

Exchange Rate
Go West RV cannot be held responsible for any currency variances which may occur.

Availability
In the unlikely event that the booked vehicle size is unavailable at time of departure, we reserve the right to substitute with a larger model. Any subsequent expense (gasoline, ferry costs, etc.) are the sole responsibility of the renter. Should a lower rated vehicle be offered, Go West's only obligation is to refund the cost difference between the two vehicles. In the event that the renter refuses to accept the vehicle offered, the renter acknowledges that all payments will be forfeited and he/she will have no further loss or damage.

Renter’s Responsibility
The Renter is responsible for the vehicle and will be charged for any misuse or undue care, mechanical damage due to negligence in vehicle operation or failure to provide normal maintenance, including checking engine oil, fluids and coolant levels at each refueling, and reporting mechanical failures or accidents immediately. Repairs over $75 require prior authorization from Go West.

Holding tanks must be returned empty.

Charges will apply if the above is not respected.

Fuel Information
Fuel costs are the Renter’s responsibility. No claim is made as to fuel consumption.Fuel is full before departure and must be returned full. A $75 Service charge in addition to the fuel cost will be apply if the RV is returned without a full tank of gas.

Cleaning
We are very proud of the condition we keep our vehicles in (all are non-smoking units).
To avoid extra charges, please return vehicle clean inside and outside. A cleaning deposit of $150 ($250 for A-Class) is processed at time of rental and will be refunded upon return of clean unit.

Smoking and animals are not allowed in our vehicles

Driver Requirements
All drivers must be between 21 and 75 years of age and must possess a valid driver’s licence. VIP insurance is mandatory for all drivers under 25 years of age.

Travel Restrictions

• No vehicles are permitted on Dempster Hwy
• No vehicles allowed into North West Territories, Nunavut, Death Valley and Black Rock Desert (USA) or Mexico
• No vehicles allowed on Alaska or Cassiar Hwy unless Northern Rental surcharge has been paid
• No travel on roads designated on the provincial or state map as ‘other roads/gravel or dirt’ or ‘forestry trunk roads’

Northern Rentals

A surcharge of $300 applies to rentals traveling north of Fort St. John on the Alaska Hwy, Cassiar Hwy, into Yukon and Alaska (Traveling on the Dempster Hwy, into the NW Territories and Nunavut is not allowed). Northern use must be specified and confirmed at the time of reservation. We allow Northern Rentals with the C20, C22 and C24 motor homes.

Insurance: VIP is available which will reduce the collision deductible; delays caused by mechanical breakdowns on Northern Rentals are not covered; repairs or damages resulting from travel in restricted areas without authorization are the Renter’s responsibility and insurance coverage is void.

Storage
Free storage of luggage, cars and/or airline tickets is available at our stations. All storage is at Renter’s risk.

Modification
First modification is free and $50 per additional changes.

Cancellation Fees

• No fee is charged when cancelled within 3 days of making the reservation, provided it is not within 30 days prior to pick-up date.
• Booking time to 30 days prior to date of pick up: $200
• 29 days or less prior to date of pick up: Full rental up to 2 weeks
• No show: no refund (Please see RV Trip Cancellation Plan)
• One-way fees and pre-paid Tours payable in full on any cancellation

RV Trip Cancellation Plan

You may purchase the RV Trip Cancellation Plan for $10/day. This Cancellation Plan is for your RV booking only and will eliminate the above mentioned cancellation fees in case you have to cancel your RV trip. This plan can only be added to your rental within 24 hours of placing your booking.

Insurance

Any accident, damage to the vehicle, vandalism, fire or theft, must be reported to Go West and the police within 24 hours, otherwise insurance is null and void.

Collision and public liability insurance ($5 million) is provided free of charge with $7,500 deductible per occurrence (column 1). The deductible may be reduced with the purchase of VIP at $25 per day max $800 (column 2).

An Insurance deposit of $5,000 is processed or $1500 deposit, if VIP is purchased. Deposits are refundable upon vehicle check-in when the RV is returned: on time, undamaged, clean, with all equipment complete, the holding tanks empty and the fuel tank full.

Damage to Vehicle - Customer’s Responsibility
In the event of loss or damage to the vehicle, whether or not due to the fault of
the rental customer, the customer’s responsibility for direct and accidental loss or damage to
the vehicle is limited to a maximum of $5000 per occurrence. The following are not covered
if damages are caused by:

• Failure to maintain all fluid levels
• Failure to use specified fuel or lubricant
• Water in fuel system
• Operation by anyone under 21 years of age
• Operation by anyone not licensed
• Driving if under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• Deliberate or willful damage by renter or guests
• Travel in restricted areas, on gravel roads or forestry trunk roads
• Towing of any kind
• Freezing of the vehicle’s water systems
• More passengers than the available seat belts
• Motorhome theft in Montreal
• Damages to the interior of the motorhome
• Damage occurring in an accident that the renter has failed to report to the police & Go West within 24 hours

  5% Calgary departures
12% Vancouver departures

Preparation Fee (mandatory)
$75 - includes first propane fill, travel kit, 1 pack RV toilet paper &1 container of chemicals

Extras

Transfers: $95 (max 4 people) $20 for additional person, see Transfer section for more information

Full Convenience Kit: $80 per person per trip: bedding & towels;
dishes, cutlery, pots & pans and kitchen utensils
Maximum charge: 4 kits ($320)
